Here is the Song Set for Sunday worship tomorrow (Oct. 23, 2011):
1.) How Great is Our God – Chris Tomlin
*Note: As Pastor James pointed out during his worship seminar, we should start out worship by declaring the greatness of our God, the one who calls us first into worship.
2.) Now That You’re Near – Hillsong
*Note: I’m going to end this song with the bridge from the song Hallelujah by Tenth Avenue North (ONLY the bridge! Here it is for reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmuSSi9eA94)
3.) Before the Throne of God Above – Shane and Shane
*Note: This is going to be a very meditative song, so it’s going to go on for a while.
4.) I Will Offer Up My Life – Matt Redman
*Simple song of offering.
*Note: I’m going to end the song with the hymn version of this song (just the first verse and chorus… really short. For reference:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWY4UnBepgs&feature=related)
Order Reasoning: As per Pastor James’ teaching, start the worship out right by declaring the greatness of our God, the one who calls us into worship. As we dwell upon His greatness and all that He’s done, recognize that we are a NEW CREATION, and because of this, EVERYTHING is different. Therefore we sing again of His great mercy and grace by standing before Him, knowing that we are free of our sins. Then we enter into offering time by offering not only our meager earnings, but also all that we are. Finally, we end the worship by dwelling upon the blood that has covered all our sins and gave us the right to eternal life.
